Emergency Response to Infectious Diseases
This section of our website is to inform the UF community about our preparations and plans in case of an outbreak of an infectious disease. Some of the information may be dated. To stay abreast of the latest information, monitor the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health organization (WHO) websites:
The response plans fall into 3 categories:
- Sureveillance/Assessment,
- Prevention/Education,
- and Surge Capacity/Pandemic Response.
The University of Florida and the Student Health Care Center has response plans in place for the following infectious diseases:
H1N1 Influenza (swine flu)
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome
Smallpox Virus
Avian Influenza A
